SERENDIPITY LUXE TREATMENTS

Thermocoagulation

Targeted care for small cosmetic skin imperfections.

ABOUT THE TREATMENT

What is Thermocoagulation?

Thermocoagulation uses controlled, targeted heat delivered through a high-frequency pinpoint probe. Depending on the concern, it may help reduce or remove suitable benign skin growths, spots and superficial vascular blemishes while limiting the effect on surrounding skin.

Care Tailored to You

✓ Selected benign skin tags and spots
✓ Small superficial vascular blemishes
✓ An individual assessment before treatment

This is a cosmetic service. Moles, changing spots and any growth of uncertain diagnosis must be assessed by a doctor or dermatologist before cosmetic treatment.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Your Treatment, Step by Step

What can thermocoagulation treat?

Following assessment and, where needed, medical confirmation of the diagnosis, concerns that may be considered include:

  • Brown spots and sunspots
  • Skin tags
  • Sebaceous hyperplasia: small facial bumps that can resemble acne
  • Small visible facial blood vessels and superficial vascular blemishes
  • Cherry angiomas: red spots
  • Syringomas: small bumps often found under the eyes
  • Seborrheic keratoses: raised brown or skin-coloured spots
  • Dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN): small raised brown spots often found on the face
  • Fibrous papules: small skin-coloured growths often found on the nose

Scalp growths described as seborrheic adenomas and yellow plaques around the eyes (cholesterol deposits) require medical assessment before treatment suitability can be discussed. Not every lesion or location is suitable for this cosmetic service.

Which areas can be treated?

Suitability depends on the type of spot, its location and your skin. Concerns in delicate areas, including around the eyes, underarms, groin and intimate areas, need a specific assessment. Treatment is offered only where appropriate for the area and concern.

What happens during the appointment?

Consultation and assessment: Your skin concern is examined under magnification and your suitability is discussed. A cosmetic assessment does not replace a medical diagnosis. Any uncertain or concerning lesion is referred to a doctor or dermatologist.

Preparation: The area is cleaned and disinfected. Numbing may be used where appropriate. Numbing time is not included in the 1 Spot Promo or 15-minute sessions. Contact the clinic before your appointment for instructions about an appropriate numbing product and its safe use.

Treatment: A sterile pinpoint probe is applied to the targeted spot or superficial vessel, delivering high-frequency energy. For suitable skin growths, the heat dehydrates the targeted tissue. For suitable vascular blemishes, it coagulates the blood and closes the small vessel, which the body gradually absorbs.

What should I expect while my skin heals?

Immediately afterwards: Redness and swelling can occur around the treated area. Spots may look blanched, while some concerns, such as cherry angiomas or sunspots, may darken.

Around days 4–10: Treated sites may dry and form scabs. This timing is an estimate and depends on the size of the spot, its location and your healing response.

After 10 days and beyond: Scabs separate naturally when ready. Do not pick, scrub or exfoliate them off. Removing them early can injure healing skin and increase the risk of pigment changes and scarring. After a scab falls away, the new skin may stay pink for a week or several weeks, depending on the area and lesion size.

Your therapist will explain personalised aftercare and what to expect for your treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The aim is to reduce or remove the appearance of the treated cosmetic concern after healing. Some concerns may need 1–3 sessions, while others need a different plan. The number of sessions and degree of improvement vary, and complete removal cannot be guaranteed.

Am I a suitable candidate?

Book a free consultation online to discuss your concern. Phone consultations are also available, although an in-person assessment may be needed before treatment. Your skin, the area and the nature of the spot will guide the recommendation.

Our goal is smoother-looking skin through a personalised approach that is appropriate for you.
